Last night the news broke that Kurt Zouma had required an operation on his troublesome knee.

Most fans have noticed that the player had been struggling with the injury all season and concerns about the knee were highlighted when he joined the club.

ExWHUEmployee (On Sunday before the podcast went out-on Monday-where quotes have been taken from) and many other sources including Claret and Hugh were told that he should be fine for the Arsenal game as it was felt that this injury was just the same as what he had been playing with all year.

Whilst it hasn’t been confirmed it appears that following further fitness and rehabilitation work that the club have decided that an operation was the best route. Previously Zouma had opted to recover naturally and this was the original plan which has now changed.

It is important to understand that things can change in football and a week is a long time in the game.

No recovery date has been given by the club but it now looks doubtful that he would be involved against Arsenal.
