West Ham may lose highly rated young talent to Premier League rivals if they fail to give him a new contract.

David Moyes has been one of the most successful managers in the club’s history. However, there is one area he’s been awful in and that’s integrating the youth. He has given a handful of players their debuts, but not enough chances.

While this never ended up coming back to bite him, and not giving one player in particular could make the Hammers furious after he leaves.

Divin Mubama has always been one of the highest rated prospects in the academy. His goal scoring record at youth level speaks for itself and he really should have got more of a look in this season. Whether it’s due to Moyes having to worry about the immediate future or whether he simply doesn’t trust the youth, it is strange how one of the most talented young strikers in the country never got a look in.

Due to a lack of play time and a disagreement over wages, West Ham have failed to get the 19-year-old to sign a new deal. Given how highly rated he is, it should come as no surprise that a whole host of clubs are interested in acquiring his signature. According to Claret and Hugh, he could be on the move to Everton to kickstart his senior career.

A club like Everton could be the perfect move for him. Unless a change of manager manages to convince him, Mubama could end up being the one that got away.
