West Ham and Argentina star Manuel Lanzini appears to be looking set for a summer exit from East London, with a return to River Plate the ideal destination according to his family.

Lanzini, who has made close to 150 appearances for our Hammers after joining back in 2015, sees his current deal expire at the end of this season, with many hoping the club would be able to arrange an extension to the contract – however his father has spoken of the desire to see him return to the club he started his career at.

“The whole family is from River, we want him to come back,” stated Lanzini’s father when asked about his sons future, as reported by TyC Sports.  “I would be the happiest man in the world if Manu returns to River.”

Hector Lanzini however did stress he delight at seeing his son represent West Ham, stating the love they have for the club. It remains to be seen whether the Jewel of East London stays on longer – with Hector expressing that there are many factors at play.

“Putting River shirt back on is a dream for the whole family,” Hector Lanzini added. “He is at West Ham, his contract ends in June and the club has the power to renew him for two more years. The club is excellent.”
