West Ham head into one of the biggest games of the season to date when we face Southampton in a relegation six-pointer on Sunday.

The pressure to succeed and gain all three points couldn’t be greater, with the bottom of the table the tightest it has ever been with 9 clubs in a dogfight for Premier League survival.

Moyes will be acutely aware that anything other than a victory over the Saints this weekend could lead to significant unrest which could make his position untenable, although the club still stand by the manager in the belief he is best equipped to lead West Ham to safety.

The Daily Mail have this morning reported that there is a fear amongst Moyes and his back room team that Sunday is make-or-break for their futures in East London, having only recorded 2 league victories in the last 15 attempts.

Its this form that has been a huge worry for a long period, and although improvements have been evident at times since the turn of the year, West Ham are still very much in a precarious position.

Our Hammers currently occupy a relegation spot although are firm in the knowledge that a victory on Sunday followed by positive results in quick succession against Newcastle and Fulham would change the shape of things drastically.

The time though is now, and Moyes must  deliver to rescue an incredibly disappointing season domestically – knowing safety and success in the European Conference League could be his escape from the boot in East London.

Nerves will be tested to the maximum this weekend, with the fan base expected to play a key role in helping get the result over the line to secure the points our club so desperately needs.

There is no doubt that many want change and have become tired of the approach and performances under the current manager. However, what is more important in the short term is survival and unity to see us through this battle to survive.

For the boss thought there are no excuse or places to hide, with a fully fit squad at his disposal it is time for West Ham to deliver and rescue this wretched Premier League campaign.
