Manuel Lanzini warns that Southampton are not to be taken lightly and that the squad are fully focused on getting the three points.

Following the international break, West Ham have a vital clash in their battle to stay in the Premier League. The Hammers face bottom of the league Southampton and the two sides are seperated by just one point.

With many of the other relegation threatened teams playing each other, the importance of three points for both sides can not be overstated.

Lanzini has impressed a lot of West Ham fans in his recent appearances in the Europa Confrence league and some are calling for the number 10 to start against Southampton.

While we don’t know what Moyes’ plan for the crucial match is, what we do know is that Lanzini, and the rest of the squad, are making sure they are as prepared as possible.

”Training in the last couple of weeks has been really good,” he told the club’s Official Website. “Of course, we haven’t had all the team because of players being away with their countries, but those of us that have been here have been training hard and training well. Everyone’s focus has been on the next game.”

Southampton is a team Lanzini knows well, playing them 8 times since joining, and he knows it will “be a hard game,” adding “they have a new manager and have had a bit of a bounce in their results, so they’ll be up for this match too. They are a good team with good players, but we can only focus on ourselves. We need to worry about what we need to do in order to get the win.”

In the Argentine’s own words: “It’s going to be a massive match and we’ll need the fans.”

West Ham simply can’t afford anything less than three points in what is, probably, their biggest game the season so far.
