West Ham had a number of players missing in our loss to Manchester City on Wednesday night due to illness, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update.

Club captain Declan Rice, Nayef Aguerd and Tomas Soucek all withdrew from the squad and departed the team hotel at around 2pm – leaving the club no time to call upon replacements within the squad.

“There was no chance for younger players to make their way up in time to replace them,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

”We believe the three players were replaced by Bowen, Paqueta and Ogbonna who were all on the bench originally.”

Our man-in-the-know has also provided a positive outlook going into our big home fixture against Manchester United this Sunday, with all 3 players looking likely at this stage to be available.

“All three are due to be fit for Sunday’s game against Manchester United,” reported Ex.

David Moyes has a press conference later today and is expected to provide an update on the availability of those players and Vladimír Coufal, who left the field of play on Wednesday with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
