West Ham have offered Academy defender Jamal Baptiste a new contract at the club, it has been disclosed by ExWHUEmployee.

Speaking on The West Ham Way Podcast over a week ago, exclusive to Patreon, the Irons insider has revealed that despite concerns surrounding the players discipline the club have decided to offer Baptiste a chance to get things on track.

Ex has revealed however the offer is one showing a reduced wage, in light of what has been a difficult season for the defender, with the highly rated Academy of Football prospect not progressing as hoped with off the pitch issues proving a factor.

There is hope though that Baptiste will accept the offer and put himself back in favour to recommence his development and make steps towards the first team for West Ham.

Speaking on the Podcast, Ex confirmed that the reduced offer has been made and the club now await whether the player will accept the proposal.

“Baptiste has been offered a reduced wage following a difficult spell for the young player. West Ham hope he’ll accept and then get his Hammers career firmly back on track.”

Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the situation and all other club matters on Patreon.
