West Ham could received a boost with news that a target this summer may be available by Chelsea, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Our Hammers have to-date endured a troublesome transfer window, with no new senior squad signings made by the club despite the Premier League season commencing in 12 days time.

It has no doubt been a frustrating summer for all connected with the club so far, with many hoping the sale of Declan Rice would enable West Ham to strengthen the squad as we look to push on from a season that saw us struggle domestically but also claim our 1st major trophy in 43 years.

The club are expected to make moves in the market, with many hoping some positive news will soon land ahead of the curtain raiser against Bournemouth on the south coast on Saturday 12th August.

As previously been reported by our club insider and Podcast co-host ExWHUEmployee, West Ham are keen admirers of Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, and a move in the market could well have made the player a more likely option for our Hammers this summer.

“According to the extremely reliable and friend of the site David Ornstein, Chelsea are on the brink of signing Axel Disasi from Monaco for £45m,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“This is doubly significant for West Ham for two factors. Firstly Disasi was originally a target of ours but he always had opinions that he would get to join other “bigger” clubs which now seems to be the case.

“This however does mean that another target of ours Trevor Chalobah could now be available. This is a player that could fit both Moyes’ and Steidten’s protocols. For Moyes he is over 6”2 in height, home grown and with experience in the Premier League and for Steidten he is young (just gone 24) and has the potential to develop further.”

“Whether an official bid will actually be launched remains to be seen or whether Chelsea will agree to sell isn’t clear, but this is one to keep an eye on.”

Chalobah did come off the pitch with an injury in Chelsea’s pre-season win over Fulham last night, although it appears following manager Pochettinos comments, the injury doesn’t appear to be significant.

Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the progress of the potential move and all other club matters on Patreon.
