West Ham are likely to miss out on Carlos Borges with Ajax hijacking the deal, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

In what will be seen as a significant blow to our Hammers transfer plans this summer, it appears that a hold up on agent fees and the manager not offering enough assurances in first team football, has enabled the Dutch side to swoop for the highly rated winger.

Our club insider Ex, who first and exclusively broke our interest in the player back in early June, has now reported that the deal looks highly unlikely.

“Whilst West Ham were finalising the deal for Carlos Borges with his agent it appears that Ajax have made a last minute move for the player and now the player could be set to join them,” stated Ex.

”West Ham were said to be still negotiating the final terms with his agent and were not happy on the agent fee.

“The deal was still needing finer details to be sorted out before getting over the line and obviously no medical had taken place, so this was always something that could happen and has happened to us before as we take our time with transfers.

“It appears initially negotiations with the agent held up the deal. This coupled with the fact that Moyes wasn’t convinced he would play him much this season has enabled Ajax to swoop in at the last hour and convince the player to move there.”

It will be seen another blow in what has been to-date a very disappointing and frustrating transfer window for all connected with the club, with pressure now significantly mounting as the season fast approaches.

As Editor I can confirm that Ex messaged this morning to advise that there was an issue surrounding the deal, specifically surrounding the agent fees. With this we held back on reporting anything further.

Unfortunately it has materialised that what Ex has stated was again accurate and the deal does appear to be off, with the player likely to move to Ajax.
