West Ham have agreed personal terms with Edson Alvarez as the club look to secure the signing, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Our Hammers have suffered a difficult transfer window so far, with pressure now mounting on the club as we have yet to sign a senior player despite the season commencing in 7 days time.

Following Declan Rice’s sale to Arsenal early in the window, many have anticipated West Ham to spend big and build for the season ahead, however a somewhat confusing direction and strategy has lead to a so-far underwhelming window.

There has however been progress made on the pursuit of Ajax defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez, with the Mexican international having agreed personal terms, with West Ham now looking to secure a deal with Ajax in the coming days.

ExWHUEmployee has provided the latest update, having exclusively breaking our interest in the player back in May.

“Tim Steidten spoke to both Monaco and Ajax today regarding Forfana and Alvarez and seems to have been able to agree personal terms with the Mexican international,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“The terms of the transfer still need to be agreed with Ajax and of course there is competition from a number of clubs and so this could increase the fee.

“Another thing that needs sorting is the agent fees as well. At the moment West Ham have had trouble agreeing fees so I won’t get too excited until this happens but it looks like there is at least efforts to do so.”

Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the progress of the deal as it develops on Patreon.
