West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca is now set to depart the club for Italian side Atlanta, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The Italy international, who only joined the club last summer, has seen much speculation surrounding his future following a disappointing and injury-ravaged season in East London.

There have been a host of Italian clubs eager to bring Scamacca back to their homeland this summer, with Inter Milan looking a likely destination only a few days ago, with Roma too in the mix for the forward.

However Atlanta appear to have pipped them to the post, by tabling an offer which has been deemed acceptable by West Ham, which will see the striker depart the club and return back to Italy.

ExWHUEmployee reported last night, exclusively on The West Ham Way Patreon, that the club were set to accept the offer whilst stating that David Moyes was in originally keen to keep the player, although his desire to leave left the manager with no choice but to accept his departure.

“It appears their combined fee is around £30m, which is close to the £35m and will be accepted,” stated Ex. “The player wants to go.”

Ex has also advised that the club will now look to replace the departing Scamacca, with targets already lined up by the club.

“The club will move for another forward should Scamacca go and as mentioned a number of times we have a few targets in England and a number in France,” added Ex.

“There is some interest in Elye Wahi of Montpellier but the club remain concerned about his off field antics plus there are a number of top clubs in for him and there are other French based targets ahead of him in our pecking order.”

It is also understood that the club have been testing Max Cornet in a striker role this pre-season, and it remains to be seen if the former Burnley player has done enough to convince David Moyes that he can occupy that role this season.
