West Ham are continuing to pursue the possibility of signing Scott McTominay this summer.

Our Hammers have seen much activity recently in the transfer window, as the club finally hone in on targets after a frustrating summer in the market.

However, following the acceptance of our bid for Edson Alvarez, with the player now set for his medical, West Ham have launched serious moves for Red Devils pair McTominay and his teammate Harry Maguire.

Our Hammers launched individual £30m offers for the Manchester United pair, with McTominay’s bid reported by Ex to have been rejected promptly.

Ex has stated that the Red Devils currently value the Scotland international at £45m, although has shared his opinion that they may lower that expectation.

“McTominay’s was rejected pretty quickly with Manchester United looking for around £45m,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“Whilst Manchester United are apparently holding out for £45m for McTominay, I think they could accept lower should we get closer to it.”

There is also the possibility that West Ham return with a move for James Ward-Prowse of Southampton, after the latest bid of again £30m was rejected by the Saints.

“Should the club make a bit more movement from the magic £30m (which seems to be the figure offered to Maguire, McTominay and James Ward Prowse) then Southampton could eventually concede defeat and accept the offerings,” added Ex.
