West Ham are continuing to hold talks with Ajax over the possible signing of Mohammed Kudus, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

There have been varying reports from news outlets surrounding the potential deal, with an understanding that the fee for the player between both parties was close.

It appears however that following further talks yesterday, that the Dutch side have shifted their expectations, which Ex has now reported has made the situation at present ‘tricky’. A key reason for this is that Ajax do not wish to sell the player, whilst firmly in the knowledge that our Hammers are eager to bring Kudus to east London this summer.

“Further talks continued with Ajax regarding Mohammed Kudus who is our next priority target,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“These talks didn’t appear to be too fruitful with disagreements still over the price (where Ajax appear to be moving the goalposts) despite being reported as not far off and agents fees also are a problem. So this becomes a tricky situation as Ajax now don’t want to sell and they also know how keen West Ham are to sign the player.”

The current stance from Ajax and the players representatives suggest that that this situation could possibly drag on until the end of the window in just over a weeks time, although West Ham will continue to try and strike an agreement for the Ghanaian international.

“It appears they could keep this stance up till the end of the window, and of course the agent is doing the same,” added Ex. “Agents are due to take a much less percentage of transfers going forward from after this window due to new regulations, so it makes sense for them all now to try and make as much money as they can now.

“I believe negotiations will still continue. however we will also explore other targets.”

Ex will be keeping fans fully up to date on the progress of the talks as they develop on The West Ham Way Patreon.
