West Ham boss David Moyes has provided an update on Jesse Lingard, indicating an offer could soon be made to the player.

The former Manchester United midfielder, who spent an incredibly successful loan spell in east London back in 2021, has been training with the club in recent weeks.

It was felt initially that an offer was unlikely, with the player at Rush Green to build up fitness, however its understood Lingard has impressed with his commitment and determination to earn a contract at West Ham.

As has been reported by ExWHUEmployee on The West Ham Way Patreon, the chances of an offer to Lingard has improved greatly, and now David Moyes has provided further indication that an offer could soon be made.

“Jesse has been training with us for the last 3 weeks,” stated the Hammers manager to talkSPORT.

“He’s in really good condition – much better condition than he was when he first came in.

“I have to say, when Jesse joined us two years ago I think he scored nine goals in 15 games and was probably the difference between us getting into Europe for the first time.

“I want to give him every opportunity to get himself back in condition and see how he does.

“So there’s no real update on it at the moment, just to say that he’s back and getting much closer to the levels of fitness where you’d hope he would be.”

The comments from Moyes echo what Ex has reported, with the chances of a contract offer looking more likely than not, as our Hammers look to build on the impressive start to the season. Although no firm decision from the manager has been confirmed.

Lingard produced 9 goals and 5 assists in the 15 matches he played for West Ham back in 2021, helping the club reach a 6th place finish and achieving Europa League qualification.
