West Ham have officially dropped a major Jesse Lingard update, with ExWHUEmployee advising further on the situation.

The former Manchester United player has been training with our Hammers for a few weeks, as was exclusively revealed by Ex, with the player making significant strides to earning a contract under David Moyes.

Lingard spent an incredibly successful loan spell back in 2021, with Moyes admitting this week that he was a key reason for the club finishing 6th and achieving a European qualification that season.

The attacking midfielder has reportedly impressed with his determination and application since returning to the club, with Ex reporting that a deal has become more and more likely.

West Ham have today officially released our Premier League squad, with 24 names confirmed, leaving one place – which is understood to be for Lingard.

Ex has now provided his view on the situation, even stating what number Lingard is set to have, should an offer be confirmed soon.

“As we have been reporting on The West Ham Way, Jesse Lingard can still be signed even though the deadline for submitting Premier league squads was yesterday,” stated our club insider.

“West Ham submitted a 24 man squad which frees up a space from the 25 maximum. This space is said to be being left for former Manchester United loanee to take, with his number 11 shirt also still available.

“It is thought that when the former England international can prove he is fully fit, he will be given a short term deal. We will keep you up to date with this.”
