West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos is ready for this Sunday after his impressive debut for the club on Thursday night.

The Greek international, who joined the club this summer from German side Stuggart, made his first appearance for our Hammers in the 3-1 over Backa Topola in the Europa League this week.

It was a performance that caught the attention of many, with speculation now whether the player will be selected this weekend when we take on Liverpool at Anfield.

“This is a big three points,” Mavropanos said after the European victory last night, reported by whufc.com. “We wanted to start with a win and we were able to do it, which is really good.

“We’re happy to get the win and, although we know we have to improve some things, it’s good that we can step up and win these games.”

The defender was also complimentary of fellow new signing Mohammed Kudus, who managed to get on the scoresheet on  his first start for the club also.

“I’m really happy for Mo to get his goals,” stated the defender. “It was his full debut as well and he has the quality to get balls into the box and get chances too, which is good for the team.”

Mavropanos, now in contention to feature against Liverpool after an outstanding debut, has said that the players are ready for the game on Sunday.

“Sunday is another big game,” he added. “We’re already focusing on that now. We only have a couple of days to get ready but we’ll be ready to play Liverpool for sure.”
