West Ham are now set up open talks with other key players following the success of securing Jarrod Bowen to a long term deal.

England international Bowen put pen to paper on a stunning 7-year contract to commit his future to the club, much to the delight of everyone connected with West Ham United.

The player has already since admitted that he is now aiming to spend the rest of his career in east London, and now West Ham are hoping to secure more players to long term contracts.

Our Podcast co-host and club insider ExWHUEmployee has reported that although the Bowen figures make him the highest earner at the club, with bonuses included – the deal keeps within the structure the club desired.

Ex has now said that attention will turn to both Kurt Zouma, who was made club captain earlier this season, and Lucas Paqueta – a player who had significant interest from Manchester City in the summer.

Despite Paqueta only being in his second season in east London, the club recognise his influence and importance on the team, and therefore hope to reach a better deal that will secure the players future.

“The Bowen deal was fantastic for the club,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon. “But attention will now turn to others including Zouma and Paqueta.

“There is a release clause in the existing Paqueta deal so the club will hope to negotiate a fresh deal that will hopefully eliminate that.”

Another player the club will look to offer a new improved deal for is Academy star Divin Mubuma, who has impressed greatly as he makes further steps to becoming a senior player at West Ham.

There are still question marks over the futures of Pablo Fornals, Angelo Ogbonna and Lucasz Fabianski – with decisions on those players expected to be made later in the season.

Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the progress of all talks as they develop further.
