West Ham Women’s boss Rehanne Skinner took many positives from the defeat against Chelsea.

Our Hammers fell to a 2-0 away defeat to our London rivals, with the champions showing their quality with Sam Kerr and Erin Cuthbert putting the game beyond Skinners side.

However, it must be said that West Ham put in a very positive display, which many will have taken note of as our Irons manager looks to build a side capable of competing at the very top.

Skinner admitted after the game that although it was a defeat, the performance gave a great indication that a plan is in place and the players are responding well to that so early in the season.

“There are a couple of things we want to tidy up and help the players to understand a little bit more, but like I said, it’s still quite early in our process so to be doing all of the things that we are doing so early is massive for us,” Skinner told the club’s Official Website.

“I thought our performance was a massive improvement on what we produced against Manchester City.”

Next up is another big test for the side, with Liverpool the visitors on Sunday – although following that display there is confidence a positive result can be achieved.

Tickets are available from the Club from just £13 for an adult and £5 for juniors.
