David Moyes could once again make a move for Harry Maguire in January even though he rejected West Ham in the Summer.

Despite Manchester United being difficult to deal with and Maguire not being overly keen on leaving the club, Moyes was desperate to sign Maguire. Unfortunately, the centre back was devoted to fighting for his place at Old Trafford.

Since then, his relationship with Ten Hag does not seem to have improved in the slightest. He still barely features for the Red Devils and is ridiculed by their fans everytime he does. At 30 years old, it could be his last chance to get a big move to end his career on a high and David Moyes certainly knows how to get the best out of struggling players like Maguire.

Teamtalk.com reported that “United are looking for £40 million for their former captain” but it also seems like they are yearning to get him out of the club; they want to improve on their defence but need to get rid of Maguire to do so. This potentially means that the Hammers could get him for quite a bit less than that and will hope for the fee to be around the £30 million mark.

He’s certainly not lived up to the £80 million transfer fee when he transfered from Leicester, but the hate he has received from his own fan base is ludicrous.

If we do end up signing him, it’s crucial that we welcome him with open arms and give him time to build his confidence. If we do that we could have the perfect player for Moyes’ system to play alongside our captain Zouma following Aguerd’s poor form this season. It certainly is a risky move but it seems like it is one David Moyes has his mind set on.
