West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola has been nominated twice for October save of the month.

Areola has been absolutely unbelievable since being David Moyes’ first choice keeper. He has single handedly kept his side in games this season and has made some ludicrously impressive saves.

The French international’s efforts between the sticks have not gone unnoticed and his performances last month put two of his stops up for save of the month.

Firstly, was a superb save away to Aston Villa following a thunderous strike from Douglas Luiz. The ball was curving into the top corner but Areola somehow kept the ball out of the net.

His second nominated save saw him reaching low against Everton when Abdoulaye Doucoure was through on goal and he looked almost certain to score.

Unfortunately neither of these stops helped us to secure any points, but it goes to show how good of a keeper he is – he had no right to stop either of those shots. Many had doubts after seeing him in Europe/cup games, however they will have no doubt now. He has been nothing short of world-class this season and is absolutely integral to this side.

You can vote for either of these wonderful saves at https://www.premierleague.com/news/3762166. Votes close on Monday 6th November at 12pm GMT. The winner will then be announced on Friday so make sure you get your votes in on time to show your support for our shot-stopper.
