West Ham got away with a poor display overall but it was a big win nonetheless, with ExWHUEmployee giving his thoughts.

Despite our Hammers being a side supposedly aiming for a European spot in the league this season, playing against a side bottom of the table, you’d be forgiven for thinking it was the other way around for the majority.

West Ham simply struggled to impose the game as Burnley grew in confidence, but arguably the home side lost their way once going ahead, demonstrating a significant lack of confidence.

David Moyes side took advantage of the situation and ultimately the level in quality was the difference, as was the change in personnel.

The introduction of Divin Mubuma for Danny Ings proved a key component to West Ham grabbed a victory in the dying minutes, with 2 quick fire goals to take the points back to east London.

ExWHUEmployee understandably wasn’t thrilled with the display overall, but feels the league table is looking healthy, especially with the fixtures on the horizon.

“It wasn’t a good performance at all but here we sit with another 3 points in the bag,” said our club insider after the game.

“Yes we should have played a lot better, but once more you look at the league table and we are 3 points away from Newcastle.

“In the next couple of games we have palace and Fulham if we win those the league table looks very impressive.”
