West Ham have received a welcome injury news boost ahead of the quarter-final clash with Liverpool tonight.

Our Hammers head to Merseyside looking to build on the cup success of last season, where we ended a 43-year silverware drought by lifting the Europa Conference League trophy in Prague – and now we have our sights set on the Carabao Cup.

Despite it being a somewhat daunting task, with a shockingly poor record away to Liverpool, there is a real sense of optimism that David Moyes’ side are capable of getting the job done tonight.

Frustratingly though, it appears that a recent virus which affected the squad badly has returned and is set to have an impact on the squad once again. At this stage it appears some players could be affected and therefore miss out.

The game will come too soon for Michail Antonio, although he is being earmarked for a potential return to the squad this weekend when we face Manchester United in the Premier League.

West Ham though have received a boost, in that it seems the match has also come too soon for Liverpools Diego Jota. He is set to miss out along with Alexis Mac Allister, Joel Matip and Andy Robertson.

It will also be interesting to see if Jurgen Klopp decides to rest other players with Liverpool set to face Arsenal on Saturday in a hotly anticipated top-of-the-table clash.

Tonights match kicks off at 8pm and is being shown live on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
