ExWHUEmployee has expressed his disappointment after a bad night for West Ham after we were dumped out of the Carabao Cup 5-1 to Liverpool.

In what was a highly anticipated contest for all connected with the club, our Hammers faithful travelled in their numbers, with around 6,000 making the trip top Merseyside on a cold Wednesday night – 5 days before Christmas, to then witness a toothless display.

West Ham were simply outclassed in every department in every department, which understandably has left many angry and frustrated, especially with what was at stake in the game.

The West Ham Way Podcast co-host  ExWHUEmployee was also unimpressed with what occurred, with our club insider feeling that the selection by the manager showed a complete lack of respect.

“I am majorly disappointed with the decision to rest key players for such an important game,” stated Ex. “It’s a trophy would have had a great chance of winning for the first time in our history.

“I understand Aguerd being out was a big loss anyway – but to then add further big changes I thought was disrespectful to the magnitude of the game.

“I would rather we had rotated for the Manchester United game. What the game also shows is that the fringe players each time they are called upon, do not offer serious competition to the starting 11.

“Ideally we need to move a number on and freshen up with some new and hungry talent to improve the squad. There are also some Academy players who should be started to be used too.”
