A West Ham outcast is wanted by European Elites this January, according to reports.

Over recent years, there have not been many ‘decent’ signings from West Ham. It seems like every transfer has either been a massive success, or a complete failure. However, one that fans can not seem to make their mind up on is Thilo Kehrer.

The German international signed for the Hammers last Summer and has shown glimpses of real quality. Unfortunately, no matter how good of a performance he put in, he always had that one big mistake in him which would cost his side a goal.

Towards the end of last season, he featured quite a lot thanks to an injury to Vladimir Coufal. During this period, he performed almost flawlessly and he probably deserves more game time than he has received this season. Unfortunately for him, Coufal has stepped up his game since then and has kept him out of the starting XI.

Now, Kehrer seems like he could be departing East London in January as some of Europe’s elite are monitoring his situation, Caught Offside report. Bayern Munich, AS Roma, Frankfurt and, most recently, AC Milan have all been linked with the defender.

Obviously, a chance to play for clubs of such a high stature would be something that Kehrer is interested in, but it may also work in the Irons favour. Almost all of their budget has to be raised through player sales, and if there is high demand for the German they can charge a higher price.

Signing him may not have gone as well as we had hoped, but Kehrer played a crucial part in getting us to the Conference League final and for that he will forever have the support of the West Ham fans.
