West Ham host Brighton on Tuesday night with David Moyes providing an update on the squad ahead of our first match in 2024.

Our Hammers care coming off the back of a memorable victory away to London rivals Arsenal, with Moyes’ side putting in a resolute display to frustrate the Gunners and come away with a 2-0 win.

Brighton though have been a thorn in the side of West Ham for some time, however earlier this season we finally managed to break the curse by claiming all 3 points on the south coast.

“Brighton have been a hoodoo club for us, but we broke it at the start of the season,” Moyes told the press, as reported by the clubs Official Website. “They’ve got a really good team and manager and like us they’re in the last 16 in Europe and a really strong league position so it’s going to be a very tight game.”

The Hammers boss also provided an update the availability of his squad, with hope that Mohammed Kudus may be able to play before he jets off to the AFCON.

“Obviously, everybody has got lots of injuries and illness and we’ve had it with Aguerd and Zouma and we lost Paqueta during the game but it’s too early to give any real answer,” said Moyes.

“Hopefully they have got a chance as we’ve got lots of games coming up thick and fast.

“Paqueta had done it in the warm-up and we chose to start him. We’re not sure if it’s too serious, but we’re waiting on scans.

“Mo is a very important player so we’re hoping there is a chance he could be available to face Brighton.”

Moyes also shed further light on his own future, with the boss reported to be closing in on a new deal to remain in the hot seat at West Ham.

“I’m really happy with the environment I’m working in here. I’ve got a great team of players we have built over the four years and had some success and we’ll see if we can keep it going.

“I’m sure the contract will be sorted in due course. We’ll find how things go.”
