The club have now confirmed that Tomas Soucek has signed a new long term deal with the club.

ExWHUEmployee exclusively reported the news on The West Ham Way Patreon back in August last year, but the club have now decided to make the switch official announcement.

Soucek has been in promising form this season so far, with 5 goals and 1 assist already to his name, making the new contract seeming a wise move from the club.

The Czech international joined West Ham back in January 2020 – initially on loan, which was then made permanent the following summer,

Since his arrival in east London, Soucek has immersed himself as one of the key components to David Moyes’ side, and despite an indifferent season last time round, it appears the midfielder has rediscovered his best form.

The Czech has stated his love for playing in the claret & blue, telling the club’s Official Website that his bond with the fans is one of the key reasons for his decision to extend his stay at the club.

“It has been four years since I joined West Ham United and I have enjoyed every moment. Coming to England was a new experience for me and we have been successful in the time that I have been here.

“We have won a trophy, had good results in the Premier League, and I am happy with myself, that I have played nearly every minute, and I feel that the fans appreciate me here,” said Soucek.

“This was a big part of the reason that I wanted to extend my contract with West Ham, because I feel that this is my home now, and I want to achieve even more in the future with this great Club.”

David Moyes was also delighted to see Tomas pen the new deal, reflecting on his importance to the side and the club as a whole.

“Tomáš did a magnificent job to help us avoid relegation when he first arrived here in 2020, and since then he has played a major part in the progress we have made and the success we have enjoyed,” said the Hammers boss.

“He is a model professional, gives absolutely everything for his team every time he steps on the pitch, and is a hugely popular character, loved by the players, staff and everyone at the Club.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Tomáš and wish him more success in his future career with West Ham United.”
