Michail Antonio has publicly declared that he is close to returning to action for West Ham, in a big lift to David Moyes.

Our Hammers tonight host Brighton in what is seen as a huge opportunity for the club to create significant distance between sides below chasing the European spots this season.

Results have been kind to David Moyes’ side at the weekend, so pressure is on to take full advantage – although Brighton can leapfrog us should they win so it’s expected to be a very tough encounter.

One big hurdle to overcome is the loss of Mohammed Kudus to the AFCON, while Lucas Paqueta is also doubtful with a minor injury.

Although he may not be quite ready as yet, Moyes will be boosted for the upcoming fixtures with the news that striker Michail Antonio is close to returning to action after 6 weeks out with a knee injury.

The Hammers number 9 posted on social media that his return is close, and that fans can expect full beast mode when he does.

“Getting close to the comeback,” stated the clubs record Premier League goalscorer.

“Got me on the Captain America programme. Beast Mode 2.0 loading for the start of 2024.”

Whether Antonio is fit enough to appear tonight remains to be seen. Our club insider ExWHUEmployee will be providing team news and early lineup on The West Ham Way Patreon later today.
