West Ham have been dealt a major blow following the updates surrounding player injuries, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Our Hammers suffered significant player injury issues during our FA Cup 3rd Round draw with Bristol City at the London Stadium at the weekend, with a number of players requiring treatment and subsequent scans to determine the respective injuries.

Firstly Lucas Paqueta, who had to leave the field of play after picking up the same recent issue, has been advised he’s set to miss action for a month, with the club seeking further specialist advice.

“Paqueta could be out for over a month with the injury he re-triggered against Bristol City and will require further assessment by a specialist,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“The club want to have further examinations on the injury to get an exact extent of the injury, but it doesn’t look too positive. The hope is a specialist can offer an alternative verdict with a more positive outcome.”

Furthermore, Jarrod Bowen and Konstantinos Mavropanos also picked up injuries, with Bowen to his ankle late in the match, and now the England forward is understood to require further assessment before a prognosis can be determined.

“The other situation is with Jarrod Bowen whose ankle was so swollen it made the examinations hard to carry out,” stated Ex. “A further investigation will take place on his injury – they need the swelling to go down before they can give a full verdict.

“The same can be said for Mavropanos who is suffering from a rib/chest injury.”

To add further misery to the situation, it is believed Michail Antonio will now be out of action for over a month following a seetback from his recovery in training.

Ex has now advised that the state of play has prompted the club to step up the recruitment drive this January. Our club insider will be keeping fans fully up to date on the progress of all matters on Patreon.
