West Ham could be handed a massive injury boost as two players could return much sooner than expected.

Against all odds, West Ham’s FA cup third round tie against Bristol City could not have gone much worse. Not only did the game end in a draw, Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Konstantinos Mavropanos all picked up injuries. Considering that they had just lost players to AFCON, not to mention Antonio getting injured in training again, it could not have come at a worse time.

These injuries have clearly caused fans and the board to panic a little. The likes of Steven Bergwijn, Jack Clarke, Serhou Guirassy and many more have been put forward to David Moyes in an attempt to soften the blow of the missing players.

Fortunately, a report from The Standard may give the East London faithful a bit of respite. According to the news outlet, Bowen could be set to return much earlier than expected with his ankle “not as serious as first feared”.

However, they also claim that Paqueta could be out for up to two months, despite him telling fans to “calm down”. The fact that he has just posted a picture of an ice pack on his knee does not bode well though.

While it is not as pressing as their issues up top, some were concerned over the centre-back situation but, thankfully, Mavropanos has been pictured back in training after his suspected rib-break.

How soon Bowen will be back remains to be seen, but David Moyes will be ecstatic if he is only out for a couple of weeks. In fairness winger has always been quick to recover and hopefully it will not be too long before we see our star man back on the pitch again.
