West Ham are hopeful of having a stronger squad of players available for our match against Sheffield United on Sunday, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Our Hammers return to Premier League action when we visit Bramall Lane to take on the league strugglers, which will be a welcome shift of attention after our FA Cup exit at the hands of Bristol City last night.

The club have been thrown into a somewhat crisis regarding injuries of late, with Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio all suffering and were unavailable last night.

Furthermore, it was reported by our club insider on Patreon that other players had picked up injuries in training, which was Pablo Fornals and Edson Alvarez.

As was reported yesterday, the situation surrounding Paqueta and Bowen is understood to be better than first anticipated – and Ex has now provided a further update on both Fornals and Alvarez.

“As we exclusively revealed in our team news yesterday, that two senior members were due to be absent yesterday,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“Whilst it is now obvious, we can confirm that those two were Pablo Fornals and Edson Alvarez. David Moyes provided an update on the pair in an interview post match:

“Pablo (Fornals) picked up a foot injury in training yesterday. He got a kick in the foot which made him unavailable. (Edson) Alvarez felt his calf in training on Friday, so that’s what made him a doubt.”

“It’s is hoped that both players could be available for the weekend game against Sheffield United.

“Coach Kevin Nolan also missed the game, this was due to illness and likewise should return to his role at the weekend.”
