West Ham’s potential loan move for Emile Smith-Rowe is proving difficult, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee in an update.

Our Hammers have been in dialogue with the Gunners over a potential move for Reiss Nelson, however it is understood that the player wished to remain in north London.

Those talks are understood to have brought about the opportunity to potentially bring Smith-Rowe to West Ham instead, with a potential loan move discussed, however it appears these talks have now proven to be difficult surrounding the Arsenal midfielder.

“As we understand it at this moment in time, talks have not been smooth with the players agent stating that Smith-Rowe would rather remain and fight for his place at Arsenal,” Ex has revealed.

“Also Arsenal have no appetite to allow the midfielder to leave as we understand it.”

It is now understood that West Ham will focus their attentions on other targets, those of which Ex has advised in previous transfer updates on Patreon.

As had been reported earlier today, the club are in dialogue with Manchester City over a potential loan deal for midfielder Kalvin Philips.
