One of West Ham’s January targets is pushing for the move to go ahead, according to reports.
While Lucas Paqueta has been doing an excellent job as a make-shift left winger, he is clearly at his best when he plays in the middle of the park. West Ham’s attack is brilliant as it is, but adding a quality left winger to it could make it even more special
Said Benrahma has shown moments of brilliance, he has ultimately failed in East London and the club are eager to move him on. It is a shame, if he had reached the heights that were expected then he would have been the perfect compliment to Paqueta, Bowen and Kudus, but it was not meant to be.
As you would expect, a number of options are being considered by Moyes and Steidten, with the club trying to get the best value for money deal. The likes of Jack Clarke, Jonathan Rowe and Steven Bergwijn are all possible signings alongside Leeds’ Willy Gnonto.
Despite his talent, it is believed that the Yorkshire club would be willing to let him go for the right price. He has not really impressed this season and that is probably down to the fact he was not allowed to leave in the Summee. The Italian went public with his desperation to depart but he was not allowed to do so and Matteo Moretti reports that he is trying to push for a move once again.
Undoubtedly, this is brilliant news for The Hammers, if he is pushing for a move then Leeds may end up selling him for cheaper than expected. As we all know though, Moyes is big on the character of a player as well as his ability and Gnonto’s dramatics may even cause him to pursue other options.
There is no question of the potential the winger has, but it really is a huge risk signing him. The last thing West Ham need is someone upsetting the balance of the dressing room.
