West Ham are continuing to work to improve during this transfer window including backroom staff changes, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon yesterday, our Podcast co-host and club insider revealed a number of significant appointments to the clubs recruitment team under Technical Director Tim Steidten, with a highly rated scout making the switch from German club Werder Bremen.

“Tim Steidten has brought in Maximilian Hahn at the start of February as Head of Technical Scouting and Analysis,” stated Ex on Patreon. “He will be joining us from German side Werder Bremen.

“It also looks like Steidten is also preparing to bring his brother Moritz Steidten to the scouting team soon as well – Moritz is a former player and younger brother of Tim.

“These additions will go alongside the already existing members of the team. Dylan Curnell is the First Team Recruitment Analysis having replaced Jordan Miles in the summer, who left to join Aberdeen as head of their recruitment.”

With the new appointments, Ex shared what the current state of play is for Sporting Director Mark Noble and Head of Recruitment, Rob Newman.

“Mark Noble obviously still has a massive part to play in recruitment, he recommends players, meets them and helps them to settle and there is Rob Newman still,” added Ex.

“It was first thought that his role would be under question and that he could leave after Steidten was appointed.

“This has been proven to be far from the truth, with Newman playing a key role in the management of scouts and identifying those key targets that West Ham have already brought in previous windows, (including the big summer signings) and are looking to in this window and future ones.
