West Ham are continuing talks with Ben Johnson in the hope an agreement will be struck over a new deal, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The 23 year old Academy Graduate, who has been at the club since the age of 7, has been in talks for some time over extending his current contract, as been reported by our club insider.

Despite talks being going on for some time, with concerns that an agreement would not be found, it now appears that the club and Johnson’s representatives are edging somewhat closer to a positive conclusion.

Johnson’s current deal expires in the summer, so the club are understandably eager to get the situation resolved soon, with Ex now providing an update on the current situation.

“I don’t like to discuss numbers as its a delicate subject when it comes to a players salary, but the club certainly seem to be willing to move closer to what the player and his representatives want in this negotiation,” said Ex on The West Ham Way Podcast.

“The key aspect though is playing time, as he loves the club and wants to play. This season though he certainly seems to be on the right path again with his performances.

“The club will continue talks and hope to find an agreement so we can secure his long term future in east London.”
