One of West Ham’s star players could push for a move back to a previous club amidst interest.

In the Premier League era, West Ham have not had many, if any, squads better than the one they currently have. From goalkeepers to attackers, there is quality throughout. Players like Paqueta and Kudus have already been tipped for a move away in the Summer, but it could be one of their most underrated players that goes this month.

Emerson Palmieri took a while to settle in at the London Stadium, but he showed his quality towards the end of last season. This peaked in the Conference League final where he was arguably the best player on the pitch. Both his attacking and defensive abilities are top notch and he has been absolutely sensational this term.

In fact, he has been so good that some fans have given him the nickname of “Mr Consistent”. There has not been a single time this season where he has been below a seven out of ten, even when the rest of the team have been poor.

Unfortunately, form like his does not go without notice and Il Romanista have reported that his former employers Roma are keen to bring him back to Italy. Apparently, the 29 year old would be open to returning to the Italian capital.

Losing Emerson would be disastrous for West Ham. The link up he has with Paqueta, the stability he brings to the defence and his attacking contributions are all pivotal to the way West Ham play.

Obviously, our Irons have the final say on whether we sanction a move or not, but if he ends up being desperate to go we should not stand in his way. We can only hope that he is happy enough to stay in East London, otherwise the board will have an impossible task on their hands to find a replacement for Emerson.
