Lucas Paqueta is continuing to work towards his return to action for West Ham, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update.

The Brazilian international, who signed for our Hammers back in 2022, has been in tantalising form this season so far, which has helped steer the club to a European chase once again as we enter the 2nd half of the campaign.

David Moyes’ side welcome Bournemouth tomorrow night to the London Stadium in a return to Premier League football, with West Ham currently sitting in 6th spot, knowing a win would really create a gap between the chasing pack.

Paqueta has been absent since injuring his thigh in our clash with Bristol City in the FA Cup on 7th January, with the play maker spending time in Spain since to aide his recovery.

The former Lyon midfielder has now returned to the UK, with hope that he may be in line to feature against the Cherries on Thursday night, however our club insider Ex has advised that he is yet to train with the other squad.

“As of Tuesday (30th January) Paqueta had not yet trained with the players,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon. “This therefore makes his selection for Thursday and even Sunday (against Manchester United) unlikely at this stage.”

Although there is hope the player will be available sooner, its at this stage looking unlikely, which is a blow as West Ham look to continue our push for European football in east London for the 4th consecutive season.

Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the progress of Paqueta and all other club matters on Patreon.
