Erik Ten Hag could be welcoming back a host of players from injuries ahead of today’s clash.

West Ham have been extremely unfortunate with their injuries as of late, which coincided with losing key players to AFCON. However, many clubs have been struggling with this and today’s opposition, Manchester United, have had their fair share of problems in this department.

While the Red Devils manager conceded that Tyrell Malicia and Mason Mount are both still unavailable for selection, there are a number of players that could make a return to the squad today.

“Sofyan [Amrabat] will return on Saturday in the training,” he told ManUtd.com. “Ty [Tyrell Malacia] and Mason Mount, I don’t expect them back, but Victor Lindelof, I think he is on his way back. He trained with the team on Wednesday and we have to see how far he is [along].”

“Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also on the way back. He could be available but I don’t think he will make it for Sunday. But I’m not sure at this moment. There is a problem in his leg.”

Lisandro Martinez was also a concern as he was subbed off against Wolves in the week, but this is confirmed to only have been a precaution. On top of this, Anthony Martial remains unavailable following a groin injury.

Fortunately, West Ham have a couple of players who are expected to make a return to the squad today. Vladimir Coufal picked up a red card against Sheffield United for a 2nd bookable offence and has since served his suspension, and Nayef Aguerd is expected to be in the squad after Morocco got knocked out of AFCON.

For both sides, today’s game is absolutely massive. A win for the Hammers moves them 4 points clear of seventh place, while a defeat would allow Manchester United to leapfrog them in the race for European football.
