David Moyes has provided a positive update on Alphonse Areola’s injury.

There have been countless occasions where Alphonse Areola has won West Ham points with some sensational saves. Without a doubt, he has been one of the best keepers in the Premier League and his performances seem to have gone under the radar amongst the general football community.

Unfortunately, the keeper took a hit to the head against Manchester United in a collision with Kurt Zouma and had to come off at half-time as a result. Fans were concerned over whether he would be fit for the Hammers next game against Arsenal.

Luckily, David Moyes has confirmed that it was purely a precautionary measure. “It was just a case of we were making sure we were not doing the wrong thing,” Moyes confirmed. “He is fine, we just felt there was no point risking him.”

This will be music to West Ham’s ears. The Frenchman has been key to their push for a fourth consecutive season of European football and Fabianski is starting to show his age.

Obviously, West Ham will be in for a tough game at the weekend, but that will give fans that little bit more hope that they can do the treble of their London rivals.
