David Moyes has stated that a new contract is on the table from the club, but he has decided to wait until the end of the season to decide whether to sign or not.

The West Ham manager has found himself under immense pressure of late following a very poor run of form, which has seen the club go on a winless run in the last 8 matches in all competitions, which included a shameful 6-0 hammering at the hands of Arsenal at the London Stadium.

When asked about his future, as speculation mounts over whether the boss will stay on beyond his current contract, Moyes stated he is the one doing the deciding over extending his time in east London.

“I’ve had really good conversations with the owners, with David Sullivan and Karren Brady,” said Moyes, as reported by BBC Sport.

“There’s a contract there for me and I’m the one deciding I want to wait until the end of the season.”

The Hammers manager was also asked on the Europa League last-16 draw with Freiburg, with Moyes hoping his side can repeat the results achieved when we faced the German side earlier in the season.

“We’re looking forward to going back and playing them again,” said Moyes, as reported by the clubs Official Website. “I thought they were the toughest team in the group and we’ve got to try to go back there and win for a second time.”

“The group was very tight, the games were close, I don’t see a huge difference. There are some huge teams in the competition – top of the English league, top of the German league – so you want to avoid them, but it is a tough game.”

Finally Moyes provided team news ahead of our Monday night clash with Brentford at the London Stadium, with the Scot advising that Lucas Paqueta is in contention to return.

“We picked up injuries to important players in the last couple of months, and we had players away at AFCON,” added Moyes.

“But Lucas Paquetá is back in training and very close to returning, so that will give us a boost. He’s in contention [for Monday] and we’ll have to see where he is.

“We had Mick back last week, we’ve had Mo back from the AFCON, so it’s good that we’re getting most of the squad back together.”
