Jarrod Bowen has issued a war cry ahead of our clash with Brentford on Monday night with West Ham in desperate need of a positive result.

David Moyes’ side go into the Premier League clash on the back of an 8-game winless run in all competitions, with the team conceding 11 goals in the last 3 matches without scoring once – an alarming slide in form.

The slide this season has seen an enormous amount of pressure on the club, particularly David Moyes, however Bowen hasn’t hidden from the gravity of the situation and says the players know what is needed to get things back on track.

“Everyone’s upset with the way things have gone recently,” Bowen told the clubs Official Website. “We all know that we have to stand up and confront these tough spells, because it’s down to us to change it.

“It’s been difficult, but football comes with its good and bad moments, and we just have to work our way through it. I’ve looked at myself as well – I had a little niggle in January, but I’m back to it now and it’s up to me as an attacking player to help us win games.

“I believe in the quality of this squad, and I know that when we’re at our best we can go on unbeaten runs. There are no easy games in the Premier League, but you have to have belief and sometimes that one result is what it takes to turn things around.”

The England forward admits that Brentford on Monday is a crucial match and one that the club have worked hard to prepare for, with Bowen in an upbeat mood ahead of the match.

“We’ve done our preparation, and I think we have a good idea of what we can do and what they can do,” added Bowen. “I think a lot of it is about mindset now and fighting to win games, and I’m confident we have the tools to get over the line.

“The atmosphere we know we can create makes it hard for visiting teams, but it is up to us players to create it.

“The fans are obviously hugely important to us. We know they’re disappointed with how things are going at the moment, but we know what we have to do to turn things around and hopefully we can do that on Monday.”
