West Ham have reportedly set aside a record breaking amount of money in order to secure their top striker target.

It has been years since West Ham signed a top quality striker. The likes of Haller, Scamacca and Danny Ings have ultimately been failures in East London. While Michail Antonio has been sensational over the years for the club, he is not getting any younger and it has been evident for a while now that they desperately need a replacement.

Thankfully, it seems like the Hammers are eager to settle this issue once and for all by signing a Premier League proven forward in the Summer transfer window. According to football insider, Dominic Solanke has been identified as the man for the job.

The news outlet reports that the “huge funds” have been set aside in order to sign Bournemouth’s star man. It was reported that the Irons had a £40 million rejected last Summer but, given he has scored 14 goals already this season, it would take considerably more than that to acquire his services.

However, this does not seem to be an issue for the East London outfit as they understand they will have to smash their record transfer fee to sign the Englishman.

Obviously, they may turn to other options that they see as better value for money, but if he can emulate the form he has found this season then Solanke could finally bring an end to West Ham’s striker woes.
