David Moyes is under significant pressure tonight ahead of our London derby clash with Brentford at the London Stadium.

West Ham are on a very poor run of form that simply must be addressed, with the club without a win in all competitions thus far this year, which has understandably piled the pressure on the Hammers manager.

Its understood that the club, as has been reported throughout by ExWHUEmployee, that Lucas Paqueta will be making his long awaited return to action against the Bees tonight for the crucial encounter.

Ahead of the game, we spoke with The West Ham Way Podcast duo Dave Walker and ExWHUEmployee, who gave their thoughts on a game that should we lose, see the pressure on Moyes reach unprecedented levels.

“It’s a big game tonight for different reasons,” stated Walker. “I think the first goal is important as that will dictate the atmosphere early on.

“We have to get it right tonight and that includes defending set pieces as for me that is their biggest threat. If we lose things will just go from bad to worse for David Moyes.”

ExWHUEmployee agreed that this fixture is monumental for the club and in particular the manager, with many expecting a response and a significant upturn in performance levels after such a poor run of form.

“This is a massive game for David Moyes and the team tonight,” stated Ex. “We really need a win and it is great that Paqueta is back in the squad, this is the boost that we needed!

“A win would put us up to joint 7th (8th on goal difference) and with Liverpool winning the League cup, you can get into Europe again with a 7th place finish at least – something we need to aim for at a minimum.

“I really hope we start the game positively, as I feel the ground are on edge and a positive start will help settle that down.”
