West Ham have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of their clash with Aston Villa today.

With both teams having high scoring European ties on Thursday night, there could be very little between West Ham and Aston Villa. The two claret and blues will be full of confidence ahead of the fixture and it should make for an interesting matchup.

Fortunately for West Ham though, they may just have the edge over Villa despite being 12 points behind them.

Much like the Hammers earlier in the year, Unai Emery’s side is plagued with injuries. Every single player out is massively important to them and it may be what decides that match given Moyes’ only real concern is Emerson.

According to Premier Injuries, Boubacar Kamara is going to be out until next season due to having surgery. The same can be said for Buendia and Tyrone Mings, but they both have a small chance of recovering before the end of the season. Coincidentally, all three of them have suffered knee injuries.

Defender Diego Carlos is expected to miss the match due to a hamstring injury and John McGinn is suspended due to a rash tackle last week against Tottenham which resulted in a straight red card. Jacob Ramsey is also a doubt, but there is a possibility he features in some capacity today.

The one West Ham will be hoping is unavailable is Ollie Watkins. The striker suffered a cut to the knee against Ajax and, while it is expected he will be available, there is a chance he fails his late fitness test.

Even with these players out, Villa are an extremely strong side and it will be a tough game for our Irons. However, it really is vital we pick up as many points between now and the end of the season if we are to get another season of European football – their injuries could give us the perfect opportunity to start a good run of form.
