David Moyes has revealed that West Ham could be missing their star player for their trip to Newcastle.

International breaks are always an awful time for football clubs. Many of their players travel across the globe in order to play for their national team, oftentimes they come back tired or injured. Obviously this is an issue for every team, but when your best players become potentially unavailable it is infuriating.

Unfortunately, it seems like West Ham may be one of the unlucky sides that this has happened to following the latest round of international matches.

Ahead of their pivotal game against Newcastle this Easter weekend, David Moyes provided an injury update to the media where he revealed there are three players who may not be fit enough for the journey.

“Overall, we’re pretty much fine, but we’ve just got question marks over Nayef and Lucas,” he stated. “They’ve only recently returned, and we’re just keeping an eye on them to see how they are.”

“Maxi is back training. He’s been back out there for a few days, so he’s certainly in and around it. I don’t know if he’s fully match fit or quite ready yet, but he’s getting there and it’s good to have him with us.”

Missing Paqueta without Cornet to replace him could be a devastating loss. West Ham as a whole though are always quite pessimistic when speaking about injuries so hopefully it is nothing. Losing all three of them alongside the suspended Edson Alvarez could make walking away from St James’ Park with all three points extremely difficult.

Fortunately, there is clearly a good chance that they are all able to feature in some capacity against the Magpies Given their own injury woes, the Hammers could end up having the edge over the hosts.
