West Ham could let a highly rated youngster go out on loan next season on one condition.

It is widely thought that West Ham are underutilising their academy. They have one of the most exciting group of youngsters in Europe yet very few have had the chance to prove themselves.

Even the player who has had the most minutes, Divin Mubama, has barely featured. You could argue that this is because he hasn’t performed well enough but how is he ever going to adjust without playing professional football.

Thankfully, it seems like they plan on giving him a chance to gain that experience by going out on loan next season. According to Alan Nixon, Sheffield United are leading the race for a season long deal. With them all but relegated from the Premier League, playing for a top Championship club would be a good level for him to play at.

Obviously though, there is one massive caveat – will he even be a West Ham player next season? His contract expires in the Summer and, as it stands. there is little chance that an extension is signed. Maybe allowing him to go on loan is how they will convince him to stay.

Mubama is one of the most exciting prospects in England, he just is still extremely raw. With a bit of experience he could go on to solve West Ham’s striker woes for free – it is crucial that he is kept at the club.
