West Ham have been told the asking price for youngster that they’ve reportedly had two bids rejected for.

Tim Steidten’s hunt in Brazil is yet to bear fruit. He ultimately tried and failed to bring in a few targets from South America last Summer but he seems determined to get at least one player this time around – namely Wesley Gassova.

The 19-year-old attacker has caught the eyes of fans after scoring a screamer in Corinthians last game against Fluminese. Overall, his stats have been rather underwhelming, but he has looked much better since the start of the Brazilian season. He already has 2 goals to his name in the first 4 games – double what he had the whole of the campaign.

Reportedly, the Hammers have had a €15 million bid rejected and their €18 million offer is set to suffer the same fate. However, according to Jorge Nicola, the two clubs aren’t too far away in valuation. He believes that Steidten has been told €21 million will result in a deal.

Obviously, €3 million is nothing to a club like West Ham and it is hard to imagine that it will be much of a stumbling block if their director of football does really want him that badly.

He is extremely raw and he needs patience from us fans as well as the coaching staff, but given the proper support he could be a bargain for that price. The main concern is still his end product, but it is something he is clearly working on. Hopefully we don’t end up regretting missing out on him over such a small amount of money like we did with a certain Neymar Jr.
