West Ham fans’ hopes of signing their dream manager have been reignited after a recent report.

Currently, West Ham fans have been left in limbo over what the managerial situation is for next season. The board have repeatedly stated that they will not make a decision on David Moyes’ future until the end of the season but the fact they’ve held talks with other managers suggests they’re maybe leaning one way.

The manager that they held talks with Ruben Amorim. Reports are conflicting about how the talks went but the general consensus is that there were no real steps taken, with our own ExWHUEmployee stating that they were initial talks and the job was not offered to him.

With there not being any further talks reported, the hope amongst the Hammers fans of appointing the Sporting Lisbon manager has dwindled. Thankfully though, not all hope is lost.

According to the Record, West Ham sent an official to watch Sporting’s clash with Porto at the weekend. While there is no guarantee that this was to watch Amorim (it could have been to scout a player from either side) the timing would suggest that maybe it is the coach being watched.

In order to acquire his services, West Ham would have to pay massive compensation to the Portuguese side – something that the board are not keen to do. Aside from that, he could be the perfect replacement for David Moyes. However, succeeding abroad doesn’t mean he can do so in England.
