With the 2023/24 Premier League season having come to an end, the Hammers are already said to have started working towards sealing their first signing of the summer window according to footballfancast.com.

With David Moyes leaving the Hammers, it’s set to be a busy few weeks in East London as Julen Lopetegui is set to be announced as the club’s new manager and of course the focus will now turn towards strengthening Lopetegui’s squad ready for next season.

West Ham have spent the last three years playing European football, this boost in the club’s stature may just be set to help them secure the signature of an emerging talent from fellow London club Arsenal.

Journalist Jeorge Bird, who writes a blog on Arsenal’s youth stars, has reported that West Ham are said to be closing in on the signing of Arsenal U18’s centre back Luis Brown, who has already uploaded a farewell post via his social media confirming he will be leaving The Gunners as a free agent in the summer transfer window.

The 18 year old defender looks set to join West Ham this summer to continue his progression and with hopes of gaining some first team opportunities. The young centre back, if given chances to impress, has the chance to prove to be a bargain of a signing for the club this summer.

Internally at the club, the hope will be that the youngster has a positive pre season and manages to earn a place in incoming Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui’s squad ready for the beginning of next season. It would most certainly be quite a step up from playing for Arsenal’s U18’s, however it’s what Brown will be hoping to achieve by making the move across London.
