Bundesliga talisman has reemerged as one of West Ham’s top targets for the Summer.

Michail Antonio has been an incredible servant, player and role model during his time at West Ham. He’s played 300 games in a variety of positions but, most notably, he’s gone down as an irreplaceable striker.

Unfortunately, the Jamaican international can’t carry on forever and, after many failed attempts, this transfer window has to be the one where they bring in a suitable replacement.

While the club were linked with many players in the January transfer window, one name kept popping up time and time again: Serhou Guirassy. The Stuttgart striker has had a world-class season, scoring 28 goals in the Bundesliga alone, making him the second top scorer. He has been instrumental to the German side finishing 2nd, above Bayern Munich after being in the relegation playoffs last season.

According to a report by the Evening Standard, the East London outfit have reignited their interest in Guirassy with Tim Steidten in particular being a massive fan of his.

Obviously, you’d expect Stuttgart to demand an incredible fee for their star player, thankfully that won’t be the case. The Guinea international has a release clause in his contract of just £15 million – a price that would be beyond a bargain.

Presumably, the Hammers won’t be the only ones looking to secure the 28-year-old’s signature and that’s not taking into consideration the fact he may not want to leave. Stuttgart have just qualified for the Champions League and, thanks to an exciting project, this could just be the beginning for them.

West Ham have it all to do when it comes to convincing him to move to the London Stadium, but Tim Steidten has a way with words and there is no reason to believe that he can’t sell the Lopetegui project to yet another top talent.
