West Ham are reportedly preparing a bid for a highly rated winger with 22 goal involvements this season.

When a club like West Ham needs a massive rebuild, money has to be spent wisely. This is the first chance the new recruitment team really has to flex their muscles and they’re going to need to be on top of their game this Summer.

In order to succeed, they’re going to have to sign players from outside Europe’s top 5 leagues and find some hidden gems. According to a report from A Bola, they may just have found someone who fits that bill.

Jota Silva is a 24-year-old winger who plays for Vitoria de Guimaraes in Portugal. After a lacklustre first season at the club, he finally found his form this term, scoring 15 goals and assisting a further 7 across all competitions.

His ability to play anywhere across the front line makes him a useful asset, but he has played primarily as a right winger this campaign. Both his finishing and dribbling are excellent but he is sometimes let down by his passing as well as his inability to stay onside. Additionally, there are some concerns over whether he is physically ready for the Premier League.

However, despite some drawbacks, he had a sensational season and it is clear to see why West Ham have apparently prepared a bid around the £13 million mark. Such a brilliant player for such a low price would be excellent business and it’s the exact type of deal the Hammers need to be doing throughout the Summer.

For once, it looked like our Irons are set to do their business early in the window. Let’s just hope nothings rushed and that we bring in the right player to suit Julen Lopetegui’s system.
